Filename: AUTHOR_Readme.txt Short description: File organization and content document B. Filename: Human Data.xls Short description: Human peel test data C. Filename: Sheep Data.xls Short description: Sheep peel test data D. Folder name: Experimental Videos Short Description: AVI files of every peel test. Files are divided into subfolders indicating human and sheep videos E. Folder name: Light Microscopy Short Description: TIF files for several of the peel tests. Files are divided into subfoldres indicating human and sheep images. Not every peel test has an associated light microscopy image. 2. The experimental videos and light microscopy in the other folders are supplementary data to those files. 3. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: Transmission electron microscopy images and immunohistochemistry staining of regions adjacent to the peel region. 4. Are there multiple versions of the dataset? No If yes, list versions: Name of file that was updated: i. Why was the file updated? ii. When was the file updated? Name of file that was updated: i. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Please read: Creveling CJ, Colter J, Coats B. 2018. Changes in vitreoretinal adhesion with age and region in human and sheep eyes. Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology. doi: 10.3389/fbioe.2018.00153 https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fbioe.2018.00153 2. Methods for processing the data: Briefly, Force-time data were evaluated alongside video data. A steady-state (SS) peel region was defined by recording initial (SS_i) and final (SS_f) time points at which steady-state peeling occurred. The average peel force over this region was taken to give an average steady-state value (Average SS) in Newtons. If the video did not show peeling, then it was concluded that steady-state did not occur, and this value was not included in the analysis. Maximum peel force (Max Value) was found to be the absolute maximum load reading before steady-state occurred. A more detailed description of methodology can be found in the following citation: Creveling CJ, Colter J, Coats B. 2018. Changes in vitreoretinal adhesion with age and region in human and sheep eyes. Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology. doi: 10.3389/fbioe.2018.00153 https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fbioe.2018.00153 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: N/A 4. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: ASTM standard D6862-11 was used as the foundation for the peel test methodology. Load cell calibration occurred by the manufacturer. 5.
